Day 1: Bangkok

Meet & greet at Bangkok airport/hotel + transfer for a quick city tour. Visit two jewels of local architecture, the house museum of Jim Thompson and Vimanmek Palace built for King Rama V. En route enjoy a 30-minute relaxing massage.

Day 2: Bangkok (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Exploring unknown environments in the capital, with the vegetable market Pak Klong Talad, lanes exotic China Town, ride a bicycle to discover the streets, a small monastery, custom shops, gym, and elementary school, before taking a boat trip along some long.

Day 3: Bangkok - Hin Tok (255 km) (B,D)

ranch River Kwai, Allied Cemetery, and the famous bridge where lives perished as prisoners linking Thailand to Burma. Kanchanaburi, hiking a bit sporty (2h) to join the Hin Tok River Camp (possible transfer 4x4). Bike ride before dinner. Overnight at Hintok.

Day 4: Hin Tok - Amphawa (180 km) (B)

Breakfast + Early risers can attend the temple ceremonies neighbor. Then you have the choice between paddling and let you drive a motor boat to the train's departure from "Death", before joining Amphawa, with stops at a temple covered with banyan and a Chinese temple. Overnight at Amphawa.

Day 5: Amphawa - Bangkok (80 km) (B, D)

Breakfast + Boat ride on the canals and rivers, where a population between rural houses on stilts and floating markets. Back to Bangkok and check in at the hotel. Night enjoy a relaxing cruise along the Charopharay River. Candlelight dinner on deck. Overnight at Bangkok.

Day 6: Bangkok – Ayuthaya - Sukhothai (400 km) (B)

Breakfast + Depart from Bangkok to Ayutthaya and Bang Pa-In and visit the summer residence of the kings of Siam. Transfer by boat to Ayuthaya’s Bang Pa-In and visit the main temples of the archaeological site. Drive to Sukhothai and arrive late afternoon in a small hotel in a former art gallery. Overnight at Sukothai.

Day 7: Sukhothai (B)

Breakfast + Day is dedicated to the historic site, the capital of the kingdom in the 13th and 14th centuries, and today part of the heritage of humanity. A romantic walk in the park between the splendid temples and Buddhas. Visit a workshop Sangkhalok celadon and Wat Sri Chum dominated by a giant Buddha stucco. Overnight at Sukothai.

Day 8: Sukhothai - Lampang (230 km) (B)

Breakfast + Between gardens and small villages, arrive in Lampang to see Wat Phra That Luang, and ride in a carriage between the old Lanna houses. Short course on religious architecture at Wat Phra Kaew Don Tao which combines the type Burmese Laotian and Thai.

Day 9: Lampang – Lisu Lodge (B, L, D)

Breakfast at hotel + Early morning (7 am) - Depart from Lampang (lunch en route) + transfer to Lisu Lodge at Chiang Mai (arrival at 10 am). A traditional welcome drink will be served followed by a briefing. We will propose a choice of activities and you can decide how you want to spend the afternoon.

Our Lisu guide will then take you for a walk through the village. You will start from the Ton Lung temple to view the herbal garden and visit some local families with a stop for a cup of tea and a spot of traditional medicine at the shaman’s house. Return to Lisu Lodge for a tasty Thai Lunch. After lunch visit the cultural center created by the villagers, where you will find a collection of typical household items and tools used by the Lisu and Akha mountain tribes. During the afternoon you have a choice of activities:

A guided bike tour around the Lisu Lodge area; a relaxing visit to the steam bath; a relaxing massage or an Ox‐cart ride through farmlands and orchards to the Thai village of Baan Pang Mai Daeng ‐ about an hour ending up back at Lisu Lodge.

A second additional 1‐hour activity can be booked at a nominal charge but as a free activity, you are welcome to go cycling by yourself. We will give you a road book of recommended itineraries. Enjoy time at leisure until the Thai dinner with a traditional Lisu dance show. Overnight at Lisu Lodge.

Day 10: Lisu Lodge – Khum Lanna (B, L, D)

Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy breakfast at the Lodge, and then start an exciting day with 13 kilometers (8 miles) of cycling to the Elephant Camp. Enjoy an hour of elephant riding through the mountainous jungle scenery down to the river. After a healthy picnic lunch on the bank of the river, you will go on an exciting ride, about 45 minutes of white water rafting that takes you to a traditional Thai country village.

From there you proceed to Khum Lanna. Upon arrival, as a welcome drink, enjoy a refreshing herbal tea or fruit juice from the bountiful gardens of Khum Lanna itself.

After check‐in, attend a briefing to decide on your activities for the following morning. Then, enjoy an introduction to Thai cooking: get a free Khum Lanna recipe book and start the first lesson to learn how to prepare an authentic Thai meal. All the major ingredients in Thai cooking are introduced during the cooking lesson. Enjoy the Thai dinner that you helped prepare yourself. Overnight at Khum Lanna

Day 11: Khum Lanna – Chiang Mai City (B, L, D)

Breakfast + Coffee/tea will be brought to your room for your wake‐up call before sunrise biking along the rural country road via San Kwang village to Phrao to visit an early morning local market where local coffee is available. With the help of your guide, you may buy local cookies and flower garlands for the temple offering on the way back.

Then you visit a farmer’s rice and traditional tools shop, chat with the owner, and learn more about the rice legends and differences & properties of the varieties of rice. Your local escort will translate. Bike back to Khum Lanna with a stop to visit Wat Pa. Pay respect to the Buddha image under the sacred tree and continue through the rice fields and get more information about the rice‐growing process and the important place that rice occupies in Thai life.

Freshen up for a full breakfast. After breakfast, enjoy the preparation for a Lanna country‐style BBQ lunch with a garden tour around the compound; collect different seasonal herbs, vegetables, and fruits for cooking and tour our exhibition “Rice for Life” on the compound. A hands-on demonstration of a Lanna country‐style BBQ lunch starts where you prepare your lunch. In the afternoon, we provide you with a choice of one‐hour activities:

‐ Guided biking tour around Khum Lanna. 2. Fruit (or vegetable) carving. 3. Local-style personal herbal steam bath. 4. Hot‐pressed herbal massage (consisting of 8 kinds of herbs: ginger, zingiber, lemongrass, plantain, tamarind leaves, soap pod, camphor, and Aom Kiew).

A second additional 1‐hour activity can be booked at a nominal charge but as a free activity, you are welcome to go cycling by yourself. We will give you a road book of recommended itineraries. The program ends around 4:00 pm. After that transfer to hotel in Chiang Mai.

Day 12: Wiang Kum Kam – Doi Suthep Temple (B, L, D)

Visit the archaeological site of Wiang Khun Kam before discovering the Doi Suthep, which overlooks the city's gilded stupa and remains one of the places most frequented pilgrimage in Thailand. Afternoon free for your last-minute shopping and dinner at Mae Ping River Cruise

Day 13: Chiang Mai - Bangkok (Train) (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning at the elephant camp in Mae Sae, to admire the training of animals for forestry work and their play in the river rewards. Optional walk in the woods back of an elephant. Visit an orchid farm before lunch, then have free time in Chiang Mai before the transfer to the station and boarding the train back down to Bangkok. Overnight on the train.

Day 14: Bangkok – Free day (B)

Arriving at the train station in Bangkok in the morning, transfer to hotel. Breakfast at the hotel. Free day for your last-minute shopping

Day 15: Bangkok - Paris departure (B)

Breakfast + transfer to airport for flight home/next destination
